The comedy TV series stars Jean Smart as a seasoned stand-up comedian, and a self-obsessed diva in her own right, Deborah Vance.

The end of second season of Hacks left us with a cliffhanger as Deborah had just fired Ava Daniels (played by Hannah Einbinder). Ava is a young comedy writer who Deborah hired back in the very first episode of the show to write better jokes for her, as her Las Vegas residency started to struggle.

At the start of the latest season we meet the characters a year after the infamous firing and Deborah’s climb back to the spotlight. Despite having two-year break in-between seasons 2 and 3, the show is far away from loosing its appeal.

In fact, the natural flow between the characters, the plot and the jokes are better than ever. What’s more, almost every scene from the very first second is matched to excellent music choices.
