Who is in the cast of A Family Affair?
Nicole Kidman as Brooke Harwood, Zara’s writer mother
The legendary actress Nicole Kidman stars as Brooke Harwood, Zara’s writer mother, who falls into bed with movie star Chris Cole – who just happens to be Zara’s former boss.
“Nicole brings with her so much experience and so much talent and intelligence. She’s like your co-filmmaker,” said the film’s director Richard Lagravenese.
“Meeting [Nicole] and working with her just blew me away. She actually is an absolute angel, but so human and kind and giving. She’s an example of how you should treat people no matter who you are,”
said Joey King, the movie’s titular character Zara about working with Kidman who plays her on-screen mother.
Zac Efron as Chris Cole, a movie star
Efron plays a movie star Chris Cole who also happens to be Zara’s nightmare boss, the star of the blockbuster “Icarus Rush” franchise, and Brooke’s new paramour.
Did you know that Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman have already played on-screen lovers? It was in the 2012 movie, The Paperboy.

Zara is the assistant to Chris Cole who finds herself in a horribly awkward position when he falls in love with her mother.
“Zac is a golden retriever to be honest. ( . . . ) I love that guy,”
said King about working with Efron.
