One of the founding members of Europe’s popular disco band, Alcazar, released his latest single “Vicious.” Watch below for a short snippet of his performance.
Andreas Lundstedt, the bandleader of Swedish nu-disco group Alcazar that gained major popularity in the 90s and early 2000s, comes with a new song.
Titled “Vicious,” the upbeat single is Andreas’ entry for Melodifestivalen 2025, Sweden’s Eurovision pre-selection show. The winner of Melodifestivalen gets to represent Sweden at the Eurovision each year.

Already late last year Andreas appeared in The Best Singers (local title “Så mycket bättre”), a TV show which sees a number of well-known local performers sing adaptations of their songs to each other. Every episode is dedicated to one singer, with the rest of the performers sing songs by that specific artist or other songs that are meaningful to that artist.
In one episode, Andreas Lundstedt even reunited with the original members of Alcazar, Tess Merkel and Annika “Annikafiore” Kjærgaard, as they performed an electrifying version of “Just Like That (I Like It)” by Swedish rock singer Dregen. Their performance became instantly popular in Sweden and among the band’s fans.
Now, Andreas is back with another solo song, and competing for a spot in the Eurovision 2025. It’s his fourth time as a solo artist to take part in the pre-selection round. His previous endeavors include “Driver Dagg Faller Regn” in 1996, “Jag Saknar Dig, Jag Saknar Dig” in 1997, “Move” in 2007 and “Aldrig Aldrig” in 2012. He has also competed several times with Alcazar to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Our inspiratioon take:
His new single “Vicious“ is a perfect combination of what he does the best – catchy lyrics, highly addictive tunes that are both a bit of pop, a bit of dance, and a bit of disco genres. Paired up with what looks to be a fantastic choreography, the song is already our favorite.
